In 2014 a 43 kilometre section of coast on Delta Downs was successfully designated as the 20th site in the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Network.  This article tells the story of the new Flyway Site at Delta Downs and how the Normanton Land & Sea Rangers and the Kurtijar people worked hard to have the value of these important waterbird habitats recognised and protected.
