Policy Advocacy
The Jobs and Economy Strategy advocates on behalf of Traditional Owners for effective Government policy through making submissions and attending forums to present views and policy alternatives that better support economic development and job creation in the region.
The Commonwealth Government's Indigenous Advancement Strategy Jobs, Land and Economy Program priorities are:
- Getting Indigenous Australians into work;
- Fostering Indigenous business; and
- Ensuring Indigenous people receive economic and social benefits from the effective management of their land and native title rights.
These priorities align almost directly with the CLCAC’s. The CLCAC supports good policy and planning and will advocate for change or new direction where it is ineffective.
